Accessibility

Accessibilty Features

We have attempted to minimise the amount of HTML tables used.

We have aimed to provided relevant Alt Tags for images where ever possible.

We have checked our colour schemes and graphics for visual impairment and colour blindess issues.

We have added Skip main content links on every page.

Our navigation menu can be operated with the keyboard using the TAB, ARROW and ENTER keys.

We have used CSS for our layout, and used relative font size to allow browser preference to override text size to suit our users.

Accessibilty Objectives

We believe the current site delivered through our Content Management System is single A compliant but we are working to improve this. We welcome suggestions and feedback from all users, so that we can constantly be improving our efforts in making usable and accessible pages online.

Our next aim is to achieve AA standard and introduce more interactive options for customizing the sites appearance. We will also be working in conjunction with users with disabilities to further improve the site's features.

The University of Wales, Newport website is administered through a CMS publishing system by many authors. Our pages are dynamic and ever changing and though we aim to moniter and check most of the site, we acknowledge that some pages may become non-compliant. We are commited to changing and working with users to rectify as quickly as is reasonably possible any non-accessible, non compliant pages.

Please report page problems or site issues to our webadministrator@newport.ac.uk
