Recognising, Rewarding and Promoting Teaching Excellence
The University of Wales, Newport, aims to recognise, reward and promote excellent teaching and learning support wherever it occurs. The University invites applications/nominations for:

Vice-Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence
The Vice-Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence is a prestigious award that may be awarded to one member of academic staff only per year for outstanding performance in teaching, where an exceptional contribution is made to improved learning and teaching and enhancing the student experience. The Award comprises a one-off £1000 honorarium (before tax). The winner will Chair the CELT Academy for one year and act as Vice-Chair for one additional year.

CELT Rising Star Awards
CELT Rising Star Awards will be awarded annually to academic staff who are in an early stage of a lecturing career (i.e. have been lecturing for 6 years or less) and demonstrate significant teaching achievement and the potential to be a leader in learning and teaching. More than one award may be made, although the right is reserved not to make an award if no suitable candidates are presented. It is expected that Deans of School would encourage eligible staff to apply. Applications will be considered by an Award panel. Award recipients will hold the CELT Rising Star title for 3 years, receive a one-off £1000 honorarium (before tax), and be a member of CELT Academy.

CELT Learning Support Awards
CELT Learning Support Awards will be awarded annually to University support staff including, for example, administrative, demonstrating, library, and technical staff. More than one award may be made, although the right is reserved not to make an award if no suitable candidates are presented. It is expected that Line Managers will encourage staff to apply. Applications will be considered by an Award panel. The Award comprises a one-off £1000 honorarium (before tax), and be a member of CELT Academy.

Professorship and University Fellow
Applications are invited on a continual basis from academic staff across the University.  Candidates should follow the guidance provided through Research and Graduate Studies[link].   The CELT would expect to work with successful candidates to attract external recognition for, and disseminate, their achievements in learning and teaching.
