Welcome to the webpages of the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) at the University of South Wales.. 

With a focus on employability skill development and enhancing the student experience across a range of subject disciplines, CELT links across the University, to offer training and support for staff, students and employers, to encourage innovative academic learning and professional practice.

Supporting the delivery of the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy,  collaborative developments of all types are encouraged with links to pedagogic research based in Newport Graduate School and to learning and teaching networks across the Higher Education landscape.

CELT includes:-
 
The CELT aims to:
• Support and encourage staff and students to develop, reflect on and assess the impact of creative approaches in areas of topical academic practice;
• Raise achievement and performance aspirations and outcomes in learning and professional practice in staff and students;
• Enhance student and graduate employability  by developing academic, work based and technological learning;
• Raise the University’s profile in teaching and learning to become an internationally recognised beacon of innovative practice.

Origins of the CELT
CELT was set up in 2008 to lead the development of the University’s learning and teaching. 

CELT has achieved a track record of success in individual and group funded projects and continues to work closely with the Higher Education Academy and collaborate with other Universities.
