I just wanted to say a big thank you to the Staff of the Counselling courses and the Counselling Team in Student Services for helping me to successfully complete my transition from Computer Programmer to fully fledged Counsellor.

We started uni in the October of 2001, I was studying media and visual culture and Oliver Jenner was studying documentary photography. We both graduated in 2004.
We met the first day of freshers week in 2001, as we were in the same halls of residence. If it wasn’t for the university we would never have met as Oliver is from Bournemouth and I’m from Caerphilly. Six years later we are now married.

Malaysian, former UWCN student, wishing you all the best of health.
I was at the time of my studies head of Malaysian students studying at UWCN.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank all the management staff, international office staff, and lecturers, as well as security officers who had contributed a lot towards our welfare, security and education while we were studying at the university. We really enjoyed and appreciated our 2 years stay in Wales. I personally look forward to visiting UWCN old and new campuses when there is opportunity in the near future.
For your information all 30 of us from Malaysia who graduated the same year have progressed from ordinary lecturers at the technical institutes in Malaysia and have now been promoted to heads of department/faculties. The skills and experience we gained in various industries throughout the United Kingdom have benefited us.
To all UWCN students and also those about to graduate, keep up with your hard effort in your studies and our success from UWCN will surely be experience by you too in future.

My name is Stephen Ignacio, and I graduated in Fine Art from Gwent College in 1992. I returned to my home town in GIbraltar, and have lost total contact with students in my course at the time I was at Gwent.
I would love to know how they are and what they might be doing. I happen to have got married to a former student of the college, who completed her studies just a year before me. Although we have since separated. However, we would both love to know what happened to our mates and we would welcome any contact with any of them.

I'm currently studying for my MA Design in Caerleon. This is the second occasion I have attended UWN, firstly from 1990-91 foundation Art, 1991-93 Btec Fashion and then 1993-96 BA(Hons) Design specialising in Fashion.
Now that i am back at the college i have become interested in students that i studied with, mainly during the time of my degree, 1993-96. The students that i am familiar with are those studying fashion, 3DDeisgn and Graphics within the same years, though some starting later than 93.
Do you have any reunions coming up for this era? The friends that i have kept from my time at Caerleon, all of 4, would be interested if something was arranged.

The University has been informed that former school of education lecturer Hilda Griffiths passed away on 7th January 2007 at the age of 87.
Hilda was a senior lecturer in Education at Caerleon Training College 1970-1980.
Our thoughts and best wishes are with her family at this time.

Former UWCN Students Marry in 2007
Former UWCN students Hannah Wall BA (Hons) English & History (2000) and Simon Leech BSc (Hons) Business Administration (1999) were married at Brownsover Hall in Rugby on 10th March 2007. They met in the Camelot halls of residence back in January 1998. The weather was perfect, the venue fantastic and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

BONNICE JENKINS (nee ANDERSON)
As a member of the UWCN alumni, I wish to inform you of the sad and untimely death of my wife Bonni on Sunday 15th April 2007 at the young age of 32. Bonni and I met at Caerleon, when she was studying for a BEd degree in English, Philosophy and Religious Studies (with Primary Education). She graduated with a 2:1 in 1999 and was very well known amongst her fellow students and in Christians in College (CIC).
As this is probably the first time that any of our old University friends will have heard about this and this has probably come as a big shock to her former lecturers, the staff at UWCN and her fellow students. Bonni lived her life to the full and was looking forward to helping with the kids work at our local church the night before she died. UWCN and Caerleon will always be a special part of the 11 years that we had together and if people would like to get in contact with me then I would like you to publish this e-mail with my e-mail address which is pozzis@blueyonder.co.uk.
