How can I advertise a vacancy?

The job details should include:

Company details: address, contact details, description of business
Vacancy details: responsibilities, disciplines and skills required
How to apply and closing date
Web address and logo in .jpg or .gif format (optional)

Alternatively you can place an advert by yourself on our shared vacancy system ProspectsNet. All you have to do is to register and log on.

How do you disseminate my vacancy information?

Your vacancy information will be listed on the Careers Online vacancy system.  If it is specific courses related opportunities, we will forward the information to the relevant tutors.  When you have a big recruitment drive, an electronic message can be posted on the student/staff intranet.  As for your posters, we will put them up on Careers notice boards unless you particularly indicate us to send them to academic schools.

Can you send me a list of suitable candidates and their CVs?

We will help advertise your vacancy information and ask applicants to contact you directly.  

Can you email all your students with our vacancies?

We do not email all students with all vacancies but students do sign up to receive targeted emails about vacancies that are posted on our website.

How much is the National Minimum Wage (NMW)?

From 1st October 2008 NMW has been increased:
Anybody aged 22 or over - £5.52 rising to £5.73
18-21 year olds - £4.60 rising to £4.77
Under 18's - £3.40 rising to £3.53

Can I recruit international students?

International students have no need for a work permit for two years after graduation after the newly introduced post study work scheme.
