Adult Learners' Week

At the University of Wales, Newport we are delighted to be supporting Adult Learner’s Week by offering a range of exciting events. There’s something for everyone whether you’re interested in finding out more about courses at the University at one of our Information Evenings or fancy a fun day for all the family at our Community Day.  All events are free of charge, in line with the Adult Learner’s Week aims we simply want to encourage people to engage in learning and try something new!

Eco-Morning
Wednesday 16 May, 10-12 noon
Newport Market (upstairs gallery space)
Come along and have a go at creating art from recycled rubbish, find out how to lower your carbon footprint or even learn about bee keeping! Try your hand at making edible hanging baskets and find out about environmental courses running at Newport’s University and much more.

University of Wales, Newport Community Day
Thursday 17 May, 9am – 4pm
University of Wales, Newport, City Campus
The University will open its doors to the public for a day filled with fun and information to support Adult Learner’s Week.  Exhibitions and interactive stands will provide opportunities to learn more about the University and what’s on offer. Campus tours, fun activities for all the family and tasters in several subjects for those wanting a taste of the University experience.

Employer Roadshow 2012
30 April 2012 to 18 May 2012
We can arrange for experienced staff from the University to provide guidance and advice to your employees on our range of part-time and professional courses. Information stands or talks at employer premises are proving to be an excellent way of engaging with staff on an informal basis.
