This page should be used as a guide only. All applications received from Intrnational Students are considered carefully on an individual basis. Please ensure you complete the correct form appropriate to the level of study to which you are applying. The address to send your applications can be found at the bottom of this page.

All applications for courses run at Caerleon Campus or Newport City Campus for September 2013 should be made direct to the University. You can download the application form   here  and return it to the address at the bottom of the page

International Foundation Year

Via Wales International Study Centre, The University has an International Foundation Year (Science and Business streams) which offers progression pathways to all Welsh Universities as well as Bristol. The Wales International Study Centre is based at the Caerleon Campus, University of South Wales. Please visit http://international.glam.ac.uk/centreforinternationalenglish/ if you wish to apply.

Undergraduate Courses

Undergraduate students are advised to apply via the University and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). www.ucas.ac.uk

The UCAS code name and number for this University is NPORT N37.

However, you can apply direct to the University. 

Research: MPhil/PhD

For all PhD programmes delivered at the Newport and Caerleon sites, please fill in and return the proposal form, available here

Remember!

When submitting a direct application, you should:

  • include attested copies of your existing qualifications
  • complete the section on supporting information
  • include examples of your work or a portfolio when applying for our Art,  Media and Design courses

European Union (EU) Students
Students from within the EU should apply in the same way as UK applicant.

If you intend to apply to Newport you will need to demonstrate sufficient skills in English Language in order to complete your chosen course successfully.

You will need one of the following:
•  The British Council’s International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) with a score of 6.0 or more, with no less than 5.5 in each band
•  TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) iBT with a score of 89 or more
•  Pearson PTE Academic test 
•  Password Plus

Study Abroad and International Exchange Programme

This programme is for students who have been nominated by institutions (outside the Erasmus programme) which have signed an exchange agreement with the University of Wales, Newport. Students should check with their home universities to see if any academic restrictions apply.

Occasional Programme

This is the programme for European Union students who are not eligible to apply through one of the exchange programmes. Please note that tuition fees are payable for this programme.  Please complete the Study Abroad and International Exchange Programme Application form.
