Counselling is Free, Confidential and Available to all at the University
Meeting with a counsellor can offer you the chance to:
- Talk your concerns through
- Help you feel clearer about what is happening
- Talk about any changes you wish to make
Counselling can offer the oppourtunity to talk through personal and academic issues in a confidential and private space.
Counsellors rarely offer advice, but they will support you to explore possibilties that enable you to make your own decisions.
The Counselling service has strict codes of confidentiality; all meetings with a counsellor will be treat as confidential.
This means that information you share will not be divulged to academic or other university staff, parents, doctors or anyone else without your permission.
All counsellors are required to meet at regular intervals with a clinical supervisor to help maintain high and ethical standards of work.
