Mike Howard and Jim Birkett – graduated from Documentary Film & Television in 2009. Their graduation film was nominated for a Royal Television Society Award. They returned to Somerset and set up their own production company Film Tank – since then they’ve been working non stop….

2009
- Graduation film (Tough Guy) nominated for a student Royal Television Award.
- Graduation film remade as a 30-minute film (Tough Kids) for CBBC with Indus films.

2010
- Footage they submitted for Ridley Scott's and Kevin MacDonald's International Cinema Documentary Life in a Day has been shortlisted to the last 100 hours (out of the 5000 hours) submitted on YouTube by filmmakers from across the globe!
- A private commission - for a London collector with the world largest private collection of pre-cinema optical toys.
BBC Bristol commissioned two films for ‘Inside Out’ from Film Tank…..
- Firstly the story of a 67 year old cancer patient, who has three weeks to prepare to live his dream - Singing on stage at one of Britain's fastest growing music festivals - The first time he has ever performed in public. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhVC7iVoYwM
- The second commission featured the extraordinary Bridgewater ‘festival of light’, following the 50th Anniversary of the Marketeers Carnival Club as they prepare for the 2010 festival.
2011
- Film Tank will be holding their own film festival at the Plymouth Volksfest Festival 2011.Their main goal will be getting inspiring filmmakers a place to showcase their work to a mass audience at a festival venue!
We've also recently signed contracts to be the official camera crew for lots of different events including: Tough Guy (again), Plyfest (the 8th biggest music festival in the uk) SPAEDA arts education etc and films for Grace Productions.
