Following the success of last year, the University of South Wales has again teamed up with Newport Bus to provide staff and students with a great bus service which will not only provide safe and secure travel between campuses, but will open up heavily discounted travel on routes across the city and beyond.

The Campus to Campus timetable will begin on the 10th September 2012 and like last year, will start early, finish late and runs 5 buses an hour between 7am and 7pm and every 30 minutes until the last bus at 11.40pm (reduced service on Sundays and Bank Holidays). Unigo passes for the service will also be valid for the entire Newport Bus network, including services to Cardiff and Cwmbran.

Prices for the unigo card will be frozen at the same affordable rates as last year making unigo the best value student bus pass in the UK. Weekly, monthly and annual passes will be available with massive savings compared to normal ticket prices. An annual pass works out at just 49p per day for the entire network, less than a bottle of water!

The buses will continue to be a safe and secure way to travel with CCTV and a dedicated team of Police Community Support Officers to ensure passenger safety.

There are a variety of ticket options available to both staff and students wishing to use the service.
Weekly Pass £6
Monthly Pass £23
Annual Pass £180

To mark the introduction of the service for 2012/13, all staff and students will be provided with free travel from the 10th September until 23rd September, across the entire Newport Bus Network.

Unigo passes for 23rd September onwards will be available from the 10th September at the Newport Bus stands at Caerleon Campus.

Students who already have an annual, weekly or monthly pass from last year will be able to topup at the SU shop or Newport bus station.  Weekly passes can be topped up on the bus (not monthly or annual passes).

New students or those who have not previously had a pass will need to register by bringing an application form, together with their payment to the Newport Bus stands at Caerleon Campus from the 10th to the 21st September.

During enrolment, these will be situated in the Kegie Building.  They will also be available at Opal Accommodation on the weekend of the 8th and 9th September and in the Caerleon Board Room on the weekend of 15th and 16th September.

Students and staff who do not have an existing pass will need to bring with them a completed application form (English)  |  application form (Welsh) together with payment (cash, credit and debit card payments will be accepted) for their choice of pass. Passes will not be activated until the end of the free travel period on the 23rd September. Once registered, renewal of weekly and monthly passes is easy: just visit the SU shop at Caerleon Campus to top your card up or alternatively the Travel Centre at Newport Bus Station.
